Indian Champissage

About Indian Champissage

Indian Champissage™ is part of the practice of Ayurveda – the science of life, ‘Ayur’ meaning life and ‘Veda’ meaning knowledge. The philosophy behind this practice is that ‘prevention is better than cure’. Massage of the shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp, face, ears and energy balancing. This method is the brainchild of Narendra Mehta, London Centre of Indian Champissage™ International.

It is based on the traditional form of Champi (head massage) practised in India for over 1,000 years. This massage is safe, very effective, without the need to undress or use oils. It can provide relief from aches and pains, stress symptoms, insomnia, promote hair growth, soothe, comfort and rebalance your energy flow which gives you a deep sense of peace, calm and tranquillity.

Some of the benefits of regular treatments include:

  • Eliminating muscle tension and stimulating circulation in the neck and shoulders
  • Stretching and improving mobility in neck and shoulder tissue
  • Relieving headaches and eye strain
  • Stimulating and improving scalp circulation
  • Improving texture, strength and growth of hair
  • Relaxing the scalp and toning scalp muscles
  • Improving joint movement
  • Stimulating lymphatic drainage
  • Improve sinus problems
  • Improve concentration
  • Helping relaxation and sleeping by rebalancing energy flow

What Is Involved?

A consultation is carried out on the first visit which will last approximately 10-15 minutes during which any concerns can be raised by the client including sensitive areas to be avoided. A medical history form will be completed by the client to ascertain whether GP consent is required before proceeding with treatment. Oils are not used in the traditional method and it is not necessary for the client to undress! However, Ayurvedic oil is optional as an extension to the treatment – additional 15 minute massage.
